Your Guide To Attending Wedding Fairs
It’s wedding fair season here in Cork and we want to make sure that all of our Eccles couples are ready for what lies ahead!
So how do you prepare yourself to get the most out of your visit to a wedding fair?
Trust us, you can never be too prepared!
Do Your Research
Before attending any wedding fair, try to get a full list of all the exhibitors that will be there. This way you will get an idea of who or what will be there on the day and you can identify vendors that you would like to meet. It might even be a good idea to have a look at their websites before you attend. It is always good to know what you are looking for, but don’t be afraid to be open-minded also!
Plan Your Day
If you are lucky to receive a floor plan before attending, make out a plan of where you would like to go first. Once you have met who you have wanted to meet, you can explore some further options! Having a floor plan also saves a lot of hassle with extra walking!
Charge Your Phone
I know this one may seem a little obvious but you would be surprised by how many don’t! You will spend a lot of your day taking pictures of what you like the look of or other items that may have sparked ideas for your wedding day. Even bringing a digital camera will save you on battery life throughout the day!
Bring Different Forms of Payment
Although you may think everyone will accept cards, the suppliers on the day may not have the facilities for that. Bring cash with you for refreshments and a cheque book to put down any deposits or payments that may need to be made. No one wants to be carrying a large sum of cash so that is why a cheque book may be handy!
Dress Appropriately
There is plenty of time on your wedding day and on events leading up to it that will allow you to dress up and look your finest. On the day of a wedding fair it is best to wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing a lot of walking all day. If planning to try on wedding dresses, it is best to wear an outfit which is both comfy but is easy to slip on and off! Another tip is to bring a large bag, preferably with shoulder straps, big enough to hold any fliers or brochures you may receive along with business cards. This may also allow you to carry heels if you choose to try on any dresses.
Bring a Diary or an Organiser
When talking to suppliers one on one, they may not be able to give you a full consultation. You could organise a meeting for a later date and luckily for you, you will be able to write this down in your diary! It is also handy to write down questions you might like to ask, and be able to record answers that you receive. It will also be a handy place to store business cards and leaflets that you will receive and keep them all in one place.
Create Contact Labels
At wedding fairs you will be guaranteed that you will write your contact details down more than just once. A little tip for you, that’ll save you so much time is creating labels with all your contact information. Now if you need to fill out any enquiry forms or sign up to anything, you can just peel it and stick it!
Bring Someone With You
Entering into a wedding fair for the first time can be a little bit daunting, like come on where do you even begin? Bring someone with you that you know you will value and trust their opinion, Moms, Sisters, Mother in Laws, Bridesmaids, Maid of Honour. The choice is endless! Don’t forget to ask the future hubby, they tend to get left out sometimes. This will help you feel less overwhelmed, help with decision making and also it’s a lovely experience to share with someone! Don’t bring too many though, remember even three can be a crowd!
Have Fun!
Last but not least, HAVE FUN!
The wedding is about celebrating you and the person you love, enjoy it.
