Q: Where exactly is Eccles Hotel?
A: See our location page for more detailed directions. Glengarriff sits on the South Western peninsula of Ireland and is located in West Cork on the main N71 road between Cork and Kenmare and Killarney. Access from Cork is by taking either the more scenic route along the coast and Wild Atlantic Way through Skibbereen, or along the more direct route out of Bandon through Dunmanway. To reach Glengarriff from Killarney you take the N71 via the scenic Killarney National Park and on through the majestic Molls Gap until reaching lovely Kenmare, less than 30 minutes drive from us.

A: The closest cash machine is at Cronin’s in Ballylickey, just 10 minutes away from us.
Q: What is there to do in Glengarriff?

Whether it’s a walk around Glengarriff village, hiring a bike to discover the beara peninsula, a visit to the bamboo garden, exploring the Nature Reserve, sailing on the ferry to Garinish Island, a round of golf in the area, a stroll in the Blue Pool Park or through the Ewe experience, or try one of the hikes around the stunning surrounding countryside, there’s plenty to see and do. Enjoy kayaking in the harbour, or venture further afield with an excursion to one of the many nearby attractions on the Wild Atlantic Way.

A: We offer complimentary parking in our guest car park at the front of our hotel.

Q: What does our “no show” policy entail?
A: If you do not show on the day of your booking, you will be charged the full amount for your first night’s stay. If you have booked our “Book Early” rates, you will incur a 100% penalty charge for the entire duration of your stay. You will find our Cancellation Policy here.
Q: What time is check out?
A: Check-out is 11:00 am.
Q: Is it possible to get a late check out?
A: Late check-out is subject to availability. It may be possible to check-out later than 11:00 with a €10 charge per hour until 14:00. It is advisable to discuss the possibility of this with our Front Office team at the reception desk.
Q: What time is check in?
A: Check-in is officially from 15:00. Earlier check-in is subject to room availability. If it is not possible to check-in earlier than 15:00, our guests may leave luggage with our Front Office team at the reception area.
Q: What is the hotel’s credit card policy?
A: We require a credit card to make and secure a booking. We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards. If a booking is secured with a debit card, a cash deposit may be required.
Q: Can I arrange for amenities or gifts to be placed in the room? What do you offer?
A: Yes, we offer a variety of welcome amenities that can be placed in a guest’s bedroom. For example, we can arrange for flowers or chocolates to be placed in a guest bedroom but would require 24 hours notice to arrange this service.
Q: What type of room should I book for three adults?
A: If you wish to book for three adults, it would be best to book a family room. Each of these is comprised of 1 double and 1 single bed. If you have specific room requests please call us on 027 63003 and we’d be happy to help.
Q: Do you have family rooms?
A: We family rooms, comprising of two double beds or one double and two single beds. To guarantee availability of a suitable room please contact us on 027 63003 and we’d be happy to help.
Q: Do you have cots for children?
A: We can offer to include one baby cot into most of our room types, free of charge.
Q: Are pets permitted?
A: Only certified guide dogs are permitted in our hotel.
Q: Do you have wheelchair accessible rooms?
A: We have a wheelchair accessible room, to guarantee availability please contact us directly on 027 63003.
Q: Does the hotel provide international adaptors?
A: There are standard Ireland/UK plug sockets in all of our bedrooms. Adapters for United States and European plugs are available from our Front Office team at the reception desk for a small deposit.
Q: How old do I have to be to check-in to the Hotel?
A: In order to check-in to our hotel, you must be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years old, you must be accompanied by somebody aged 18 or older.
Q: When booking online, how can I be sure that I will have a room reservation?
A: If you book a room through our website, you will be issued with a confirmation number. This will be sent to the email address you provide in your booking form.
Q: Do you offer hairdryers in your guestrooms?
A: Yes, all of our bedrooms are equipped with a hairdryer for your complimentary use.
Q: Do you provide coffee makers in your guestrooms?
A: Yes, all of our bedrooms are equipped with a kettle and tea/coffee for your complimentary use.
Q: Do you provide irons and ironing boards for use during my stay?
A: Yes, irons and an ironing boards can be requested for your complimentary use.
Q: Is the hotel air-conditioned?
A: No, our hotel is not equipped with air conditioning.
Q: Do your rooms include VAT?
A: Yes, our room rates quoted include VAT.
Q: Can children share my room?
A: We can offer family room. These are comprised of either two double beds or one double bed and two single beds. To request a family room or with more specific accommodation requests please contact us on 027 63003 and we’d be happy to assist.
Q: Do you offer Breakfast in bed?
A: Yes, we can offer breakfast in bed. To arrange this, please contact reception the night before the service is required.
Q: Is Internet access available?
A: Yes, our guests have complimentary access to Eccles Hotel Wi-Fi.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Our Flexible Rates have a cancellation policy of notice by 14:00 GMT 48 hours prior to the arrival date booked. Our Advanced Purchase rates are payable at the time of booking and each reservation is non-transferable and non-refundable.
Q: What time is breakfast served?
A: Breakfast is served each morning at Island walk and Garinish restaurant daily from 8am – 10am.

Q: What time is last orders for food at Eccles Hotel?
A: Normally last orders are 8:45pm.
Q: What time is mass?
A: Mass times for Sacred Heart Church in Glengarriff are as follows – Saturday Vigil Mass at 8.00pm, Sunday morning Mass 11.30am. There is a Mass at 9.30am in St Fiachna’s Church, Bonane about 20 mins away on the Kenmare Road. (N71)
Q: Where can we go for a walk around Glengarriff?
A: The village is a mere 10 minutes stroll from the hotel or you can walk around the unusual and stunning bamboo park, close to the hotel or indeed the Ewe Experience is an interactive sculpture trail in Glengarriff, alternatively there are a variety of trails in the Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve to suit a range of abilities from the river walk to the climb to lady Bantry’s lookout.
Q: Are there taxis available in Glengarriff?
A: Yes, there are taxis locally and we would be happy to assist you with any travel requirements you have.
Q: How do we get to Garinish Island?
A: Garinish Island is a beautiful island garden of great beauty and open from April until October, ferries to Garnish Island run from the harbour just across the road from Eccles Hotel and the trip includes a visit to seal island, where you will see the largest colony of harbour seals in Ireland.
Q: How far is the Dursey Island Cable Car?
A: Dursey Island Cable Car is Ireland’s only cable car, it operates all year round, weather permitting, and is the only cable car that traverses open seawater in all of Europe. It operates continually during scheduled hours. It costs €10 return per adult and €5 return per child. It is 1 hour from Eccles Hotel to Dursey Island Cable Car.
Q: Do you have a swimming pool at Eccles Hotel?
A: No, we do not have a swimming pool at the hotel, however we’d be happy to advise on pools in the area.
Q: How long does it take to drive the Beara Way?
A: It takes approximately 2 hours to drive the Beara Way, taking you through the scenic vistas of the Healy Pass, The Wild Atlantic Way, the Sheen Valley, and the authentic towns of the Beara Peninsula, The Ring of Beara is a glimpse into Ireland at its most wild.
Q: What public transport is available in Glengarriff?
A: There is a regular bus service from Glengarriff to Bantry and on to Cork city and also a bus service daily to Kenmare.
